Our computerized data collection system allows us to collect and maintain real-time data on all cases managed by the Center. All our outgoing reports contain aggregate data only and do not specifically identify patient information.

Collected data is used both locally and nationally to:

  • reduce poison-related injury, illness, and deaths;
  • target poison prevention efforts;
  • improve poisoning treatments;
  • improve public programs;
  • identify poisoning trends;
  • spot poisoning epidemics as they develop; and
  • reformulate and repackage products to make them safer.
